RI SOCIETY OF CPAS SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMS WANTED: COLLEGE STUDENTS MAJORING IN ACCOUNTINGi Undergraduate/Graduate WHY: To apply for The Carl W. Christiansen Scholarship and The Cheryl A. Ruggiero Scholarship. In 2011, the RI Society of CPAs awarded $11,500 in Christiansen Scholarships and $1,000 for the recently established Cheryl A. Ruggiero Scholarship. The Cheryl A. Ruggiero Scholarship was established in 2005 for women accounting students interested in pursuing a career in public accounting. A determination of the amount of dollars available in 2012 will be made in December, 2011. The deadline for receipt of applications will be on JANUARY 13, 2012. The recipients will be notified in February. A formal scholarship presentation will take place at the RI Society's Annual Dinner in April.
